KCBMC History

Being together, walking together,
and sharing the mission together

1930

Birth of World CBMC

A union of faith born through prayer amidst crisis. Amidst the Great Depression, seven Christian businesspeople in Chicago began a prayer meeting, opening the history of CBMC. This beginning became the first seed of global CBMC, connecting the workplace with faith.

1937

Expansion into an International Movement

From a single city's gathering to a global mission. The momentum that started in Chicago spread to major US cities, and CBMC officially took shape. This period was a turning point as CBMC grew into an international network.

1951~1952년

Introduction of CBMC to South Korea

CBMC was introduced to Korea by Colonel Cecil Hill, who participated in the Korean War as a member of the US Military Advisory Group. On September 26 of the same year, the Daegu CBMC was founded as the first branch. Afterwards, in 1952, CBMC began to be widely known through the "Christian Gazettes" (Christian Press), and branches spread to Gyeongju, Busan, Seoul, and Suwon, maintaining close exchanges with the international headquarters.

1967

Official Organization of South Korea

Scattered meetings become a single organization. With the official launch of Korea CBMC in 1967, regional activities were organized into a single structure. This was an important milestone for Korean Christian businesspeople to unite as a mission community.

1975

The Beginning of the North American Diaspora

CBMC blooming once again in the lives of immigrants. The first Korean CBMC meeting began in Los Angeles, and North American diaspora ministry began in earnest. This start became a new connection point for building faith and business together within the immigrant community.

1993

Launch of North American KCBMC

A continental network connecting scattered communities. With the launch of North American KCBMC connecting the United States and Canada, Korean CBMC grew into a continental diaspora coalition. This was the beginning of a sustainable mission network for the next generation.

Present

Diaspora Network Serving the World

A community of faith living out the Gospel in the workplace. Today, CBMC helps businesspeople and professionals practice the Gospel in their everyday lives all around the world. In particular, North American KCBMC continues its role as a hub for the diaspora community, raising up the next generation.

Who Am I Walking With Right Now?

In the relationship of “Paul and Timothy,” where we learn from someone and build up someone else, we experience a journey where business and faith grow together.
Change begins with one person, and spiritual reproduction continues through relationships.
But I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God. (Acts 20:24)
