Are you a hindrance to the success of an employee?

“예수께서 제자들에게 이르시되 실족하게 하는 것이 없을 수는 없으나 그렇게 하는 자에게는 화로다”(눅 17:1)

많은 직원들에게 있어서 핵심적인 장애물은 그들에게 중요한 사업적 지식이 별로 없다는 점이다. 경영자인 우리가 정보를 쥐고만 있으면, 우리는 직원들에게 장애물이 된다.

 아는 게 힘이다. 그리고 우리가 남들에게 힘을 실어 주려면 아는 걸 나눠야 한다. 직원에게 당신의 결정을 알게 하되, 어떻게 해서 그런 결과가 나왔는지 과정도 설명하라. 그러면, 당신이 어째서 그런 결정을 하게 되었는지 이해하게 될 뿐 아니라, 그들 자신에게도 일을 결정하는 법을 가르치는 셈이 된다.

 훈련은 또 하나의 본질적인 지식을 나누는 행위이다. 반드시 매주 회사 전체나 각 부서에 대한 중요 사안을 놓고 의논하라. 각 직원들이 각 주요 사안에 대해 간단한 정보만을 아는 것에서 변화시켜, 각 주요 원리를 이해하고 적용시킬 수 있도록 만들라.

 당신이 지식을 나눔으로써 직원들의 업무가 향상될 것이고, 이것은 사업의 성공에 견인차 역할을 할 것이다.

A key obstacle for many employees is that they do not have much business knowledge that is important to them. As long as we as managers hold information, we become obstacles to our employees.

 Knowledge is power. And we must share what we know in order to empower others. Let employees know your decision, but also explain how it came to be. Then you will not only understand why you made that decision, but also teach themselves how to make decisions.

 Training is another act of sharing essential knowledge. Make sure to discuss important issues for the entire company or each department every week. Make sure that each employee understands and applies each of the main principles by changing from knowing only simple information about each major issue.

 Your employees' work will be improved by sharing your knowledge, which will serve as a driving force for the success of your business.

“지혜있는 자에게 교훈을 더하라 그가 더욱 지혜로워질 것이요 의로운 사람을 가르치라 그의 학식이 더하리라”(잠 9:9).
