당신은 성급한 결정을 내리는가?

어떤 사업가들은 자신의 빠른 결정을 자랑스럽게 생각하기도 한다. 그러나 빠른 것이 항상 최선은 아니다. 어리석은 결정을 내리지 않으려면 생각을 많이 하고 난 후 결정을 내려야 한다는 것은, 생각할 것도 없이 지극히 당연하다. 흔히 “나중에후회 할 것을 생각하고서 말을 내뱉어라”는 말을 많이 한다. 당신의 의견이나 결정을 주장하기 전에, 잠시 멈추는 습관을가져 보라. 먼저는 양쪽에서 들은 모든 상황을 당신이 이해하고 있고 당신의 시각보다 더 폭넓게 고려했는지 확인하라, 현명한 판단을 내리고 싶지만 시간이 없을 때 들들 볶여서 성급한 결정을 내려 버리면 안 된다. 당신이 심사숙고하기 위해 잠시 시간을 가지면, 다른 사람들은 당신을 보고 당신의 판단력에 대해 확신을 갖게 될 것이다. 행동을 취하기 전에 사안 전체에 대해 생각해 보라. 그러면 당신의 현명한 결정은 당신의 사업을 성공으로 이끌 것이다.

“내 아들아 만일 네 마음이 지혜로우면 나 곧 내 마음이 즐겁겠고 만일 네 입술이 정직을 말하면 내 속이 유쾌하리라” (잠23:15-16)

Do You Make Hasty Decisions? 
Some businesspeople take pride in making quick decisions, but speed is not always best. To avoid foolish decisions, it is obvious that you must think carefully before deciding. People often say, "Think before you speak, or you may regret it later." Before insisting on your opinion or decision, develop the habit of pausing. Make sure you understand both sides of the situation and have considered perspectives broader than your own. When you want to make a wise judgment but feel pressed for time, do not let pressure force you into a hasty decision. If you take time to think carefully, others will gain confidence in your judgment. Consider the whole matter before acting. Then your wise decisions will lead your business toward success.
